The Malden Historical Society will hold its 26th annual Antique Show on March 3, 2012 having last year observed its 25th Anniversary Antiques Show and Sale with a highly successful event that marked not only the 25th anniversary of the show, but celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Malden Historical Society.
The Society’s 26th annual show will be held on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Paul’s Parish Episcopal, 26 Washington Street, Malden. The yearly event which benefits the Historical Society’s archiving project has grown in popularity since its inception and many antiquers look forward to it.
As soon as the current show is over, Show Co-Chairpersons Tony Dickinson and John King begin planning for the next year, recruiting dealers who represent the variety of antiques and collectible that the show is known for at prices that suit the budgets of its patrons. Dickinson said, “As people’s interests and tastes change, and new items become popular, we try to respond with new dealers and merchandise that appeals to everyone.
The show will host dealers from throughout New England who will exhibit and sell a diverse selection of merchandise from art to old kitchenware, vintage linens, small items of furniture, books and prints and more. While some dealers concentrate on specific items such as jewelry or books, others offer a general mix of items.
Easily reached by public transportation, the Show is a short walk from the Orange Line’s Malden Center T stop. Those who are driving should take Route 60 to Main Street from Routes 93 and 99. From Main Street, turn left onto Pleasant Street and take a right onto Washington Street and follow signs to the show. Convenient free parking is available.
St. Paul’s Parish is located at 26 Washington n Street. The church is handicapped accessible. The kitchen will offer a menu of luncheon items, including home baked desserts.
