Malden Class Clowns Come Home
The class clowns came back to school on Saturday, November 10 to participate in a fundraiser comedy show at Malden High School’s Jenkins Auditorium. The event was organized by the nonprofit organization Foundation for the Advancement of Malden Education (FAME). Proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to FAME.
“It was a great way to kick-off the 125th anniversary celebration of the Malden vs. Medford football rivalry!” said Karen Hayes, community outreach coordinator at the mayor’s office. “Lots of laughs while supporting a good cause.”
The comedians—Anthony Scibelli, Dave Russo, Dave Connolly, Joey Voices, Paul Gilligan, Bob Gautreau and David Twohig—are all graduates of Malden High School.
Temple Tifereth Israel’s Annual Holiday Craft Fair
Temple Tifereth Israel held their fourth annual Holiday Craft Fair on Sunday, November 11.
“We do this to raise funds to run our congregation and help run events, and also maintain our building,” said Temple Tifereth Israel’s President Sarah Beardslee. “People come in and display their wares. We try and showcase a lot of local art.”
People drifted in and out of the hall all day, browsing through books, artwork, and photographs and purchasing jewelry and curios from various stalls.
“It’s also a great community event, with people coming in from the whole area to participate, and it’s great for holiday shopping. We always try to hold it on Veterans’ Day weekend,” said Beardslee, from behind her beaded jewelry table.
