An open letter to Councillor Neil Kinnon of Ward 6 and the Honorable Mayor Christenson

My name is Kevin M. Larson; I have been a resident of Malden for 50 years. I have been reading for the past 11 months the bickering that has been going on between Mayor Christenson and Councilor Kinnon.

First, I would like to say Mayor Christenson; I give you a B-plus grade for your first year. Councillor Kinnon, you also have worked hard for the residents of ward 6 over the past years.
What bothers me is that all the bickering and arguing over the past year about certain papers put forth to the council. The one that stands out is where to put the new city yards. Mayor Christenson, the city yards down on Commercial St. is an eyesore; why has it been left to despair? There is no reason why the Malden D.P.W. should be in this condition.

I request the whole DPW Commission resign immediately and a special volunteer commission explore all the possibilities to where the new city yards can be built.

I don’t think Boston Steel is a good option. Reasons: traffic, and residential noise. How about the old Brudnick building on Medford Street?

The matter between you and Councillor Kinnon should be resolved as soon as possible so the matters of this fine city can move forward in 2013.

Councillor Kinnon, as a resident of your ward, I ask you to meet with Mayor Christenson this week and iron out your differences between both of you. Filing conflict of interest charges against councillor Kinnon only cost the Taxpayers of Malden foolish legal fees. That money can go and hire more summer kids to clean parks.

In closing, I would be more than happy to sit down with both of you anywhere to mediate your differences.

PLEASE GENTLEMEN, START THE NEW YEAR OFF RIGHT AND END THIS NOW FOR THE GOOD OF THE TAX PAYING CITIZENS OF MALDEN. THANK YOU.

Kevin Larson
